DUNTON RIVER CAMP
FAQs
At first glance, Dunton River Camp and Dunton Hot Springs may seem like similar escapes—both rooted in nature, deeply personal, and wonderfully remote. But the experiences they offer are distinctly different. This FAQ is designed to help clarify those differences and answer common questions, especially for those considering a stay at River Camp or a combination itinerary across our properties. Whether you’re drawn to peaceful riverside mornings, world-class fly fishing, or the serenity of an outdoor sauna under the stars, this guide will help you plan the Dunton experience that’s right for you.
River Camp is also an exceptional choice for intimate buy-outs, whether for weddings, milestone celebrations, or small group retreats, offering complete privacy in a wild and breathtaking setting.

Dunton River Camp offers a more tranquil, nature-immersed experience. With only 8 luxury tents (maximum 16 guests), it’s designed for serenity and solitude, compared to the more social atmosphere of Dunton Hot Springs with 14 cabins and up to 52 guests. River Camp is ideal for outdoorsy couples, solo travelers, and small groups looking to disconnect and embrace the wild beauty of Colorado.
Most of our guests are adventurous couples aged 30–50, but we also welcome father-son pairs and friends—especially in our four “twin-bedded” tents. During designated family periods, we offer a 50% discount on a second tent, allowing families to stay comfortably while enjoying time together and apart. Family period dates are listed on our Special Offers page.
