Dunton River Camp
BY DUNTON
A former cattle ranch dating to the late 1800s, Dunton River Camp sits beside the West Fork of the Dolores River, showcasing 500 acres of peaceful meadow, forest, and open sky.
The farmhouse remains in its original place, close to the water. Around it, the camp sits quietly within protected ground, while the wider ranch still moves to the rhythms of cattle grazing. Eight safari-style tents have all of the comforts of a luxury hotel. Each tent is assigned two mountain bikes for guests’ use during their stay. This provides guests the opportunity to explore trails or just bike on the road at their leisure.
Days are shaped by the river—fishing steps from your tent, trails leading straight from camp, the warmth of the sauna beside the water. Evenings gather at the farmhouse: a cocktail by the fire, dinner among friends, a nightcap to close the night. Immersed in nature.
