DUNTON RIVER CAMP
ACTIVITIES
Spring and summer return River Camp to canvas and open air. The river runs cold beside camp, the trails clear, and days begin outdoors almost by instinct.
Hours move easily between the water, the meadow, and the quiet of the tent deck. By evening, dinner in the farmhouse and the sound of the river draw the day gently to a close.
Hiking departs directly from Dunton or nearby trailheads, depending on route and conditions. Walks move through forest, alpine basins, and open terrain, with options that range from gentle exploration to longer, more demanding days. Routes are selected based on interest, ability, and weather. Private and family-friendly hikes can be arranged.

The West Dolores River runs directly through the valley, offering steady water shaped by season and snowmelt. Fishing is quiet and unhurried, with ample space to spread out along the banks. Half-day and full-day options are available, with guides arranged as needed. Experience can be tailored for first-time anglers or those looking to spend longer hours on the water.
For experienced riders, long descents and open terrain are accessible via nearby trail systems. Routes are chosen for flow, distance, and changing elevation. Shuttle support can be arranged where needed. Technical riding is required on some routes, and conditions vary by season.
