Summer offers the height of adventure at Dunton. Warmer weather opens the valley, days lengthen and trails clear. Surrounded by mountains, there is space to range further and stay out longer. Evenings still draw people back in—meals gather without hurry, light lingers late, and the day closes at its own pace.
We have gentle, rugged horses for high mountain rides, world class fly fishing on an exclusive nine-mile stretch of the West Fork of the Dolores. Perfect hiking and mountain bike trails, from easy to heart pounding. We can also provide expert guides to help you summit the 14,000ft peaks or take you rock climbing in the surrounding San Juan peaks.

Move through the valley at a pace set by the land. Rides follow open meadows, river corridors, and higher ground, offering long views and a sense of scale without urgency.
Outings range from shorter rides close to the property to half-day excursions further into the surrounding terrain. Suitable for most experience levels, with routes adjusted to rider comfort.
Hiking departs directly from Dunton or nearby trailheads, depending on route and conditions. Walks move through forest, alpine basins, and open terrain, with options that range from gentle exploration to longer, more demanding days. Routes are selected based on interest, ability, and weather. Private and family-friendly hikes can be arranged.

The West Dolores River runs directly through the valley, offering steady water shaped by season and snowmelt. Fishing is quiet and unhurried, with ample space to spread out along the banks. Half-day and full-day options are available, with guides arranged as needed. Experience can be tailored for first-time anglers or those looking to spend longer hours on the water.
For experienced riders, long descents and open terrain are accessible via nearby trail systems. Routes are chosen for flow, distance, and changing elevation. Shuttle support can be arranged where needed. Technical riding is required on some routes, and conditions vary by season.

Paddle in paradise on a family-friendly mountain adventure that appeals equally to children and adults. Just 45 minutes from Dunton, Trout Lake is an ideal paddle board destination.
Climbing and scrambling routes are available in the surrounding canyon and rock formations during warmer months. Activities range from introductory movement on rock to more technical outings, depending on interest and experience.

Yoga & Movement: We offer weekly complimentary classes but if the timing does not work into your schedule or you simply prefer a private session, schedule a class just for your group. Our instructors offer more active, vinyasa style classes, core strengthening pilates or pi-yo classes as well as calming practices focused on fascia release, joint access and mobility.
Wellness in the San Juans: A two-hour workshop focused on deepening the connection between body and mind. Your session starts with relaxing moments of mindful breathwork followed by a flowing sequence of healing postures and is finished with an extended movement meditation designed to promote physical mobility as well as inner relaxation and peacefulness.
